Mixed Model Value Stream Mapping

Introduction:

Value Stream Mapping is a powerful visualization tool to see and understand the flow of material and information as a product or service makes its way through the value stream, and to identify the non-value adding activities and waste present within the organisation.

However, for companies in a high-variety (high mix) product or service environment, the situation can be more complex and will hence require more guidelines on value stream management. Some examples of such environments include high variety of products (some are customised), demand not leveled and selling to many customers with varying requirements.

This course is intended for the more advanced Lean practitioner and takes the concepts of value stream mapping to the next level by looking at how to apply Lean principles in a high-variety environment.
