Introduction:

Companies who wish to conduct businesses in Singapore need to ensure that their operations comply with the health & safety legal requirements instituted by the Ministry of Manpower and other relevant authorities. Non-compliance to the legal requirements could pose as a business risk to the organisation as the authorities may impose a hefty fine or require the company to cease operations until compliance status is achieved or both. Companies therefore need to be proactive in identifying applicable legislation and ensuring continual compliance to these legislations. The legal requirements stipulated by the authorities are not only applicable to OHSAS 18001 certified companies but also all companies having operations in Singapore.
